Could someone please clarify when you are completing a checklist and you indicate that you were "travelling" i.e. walking a trail:
Where it says DISTANCE TRAVELED (meters) - My checklists are always from Canada - so do I indicate the total number of kilometres that I travelled. I have been doing this however I have been told that somewhere in e-bird there is a chart that indicates different numbers for specific distances (i.e. 1= less than a km, 2 = 2-4 km.
I have not been able to find this chart anywhere.
Right now we ask that users put in the distance they traveled, one way, in meters. So if I walked down a trail for 1 km and came back the same way, I would enter 1000, as I traveled 1000 meters one way. If I walked a big loop on a trail that was 2 KM, I would enter 2000 meters in the box. I hope this makes sense.
